COLORADO CREDENTIAL STANDARDS
|High school diploma or jurisdictionally certified high school equivalency|
|60 training hours specific to the following IC&RC domains, with a minimum number of hours required in each domain:
At least 50% of the 60 hours of trainings required for certification must be Peer or Family Specialist related trainings. These may include Peer Specialist, WRAP trainings, CPI trainings, Mental Health First Aid, or Recovery Coaching.
Additional Colorado subject areas: Trauma Informed Care, Cultural Sensitivity, Whole Health, Substance Use, Mental Health and Family Support
All training hours must have occurred within the last 5 years. For example, if applying for the credential in 2018, all training hours must have occurred between 2013 – 2018.
|500 hours of volunteer or paid work experience specific to the IC&RC domains over at least 6 months|
|25 hours of individual and/or group supervision specific to the domains|
|Sign a Code of Ethics statement within the application system. A copy of the Code of Ethics can be downloaded here.|
|All new candidates must pass the IC&RC Peer Recovery exam|
|For re-certification (every 2 years): 30 hours of continuing education earned every 2 years, including 6 hours of ethics|
